Mechanical Design Engineer for Filmic Materials Prototyping

The function

You are responsible for the development of a prototype for new products and modifications or improvements to existing products. You provide support in launching new products, with a focus on problem solving and design for manufacturability.

You work closely with Sales to understand and define requirements. You develop a concept and create a prototype. In the lab you will work with test and prototype equipment (laser plotter, laminator, 3D printer,...) to find in the end a solution for technical customer applications. You discuss test results internally (eg. production engineers), but you also visit customers to discuss and present samples or prototypes.

You report to the Team leader of the ATC-E in Munich.

Your profile

You have a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering which you combine with a few years of relevant experience (within a high precision converted parts industry, a fine mechanics engineering company or an automotive plastic parts engineering company). A good understanding of tape/film/thin foam materials and converting process is a must.

By preference you are able to work with 3D CAD design software such as Solidworks. Further on a flexible attitude and a fluent knowledge of English and German is required.
