Nitto Wins SID Display Component of the Year Award
Nitto Denko Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka; President, CEO & COO: Hideo Takasaki; hereafter “Nitto”) has received the Display Component of the Year Award at the Display Industry Awards 2016, presented by The Society for Information Display (hereafter “SID”). The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in San Francisco, California.
Nitto is receiving this award in recognition of its product, “Ultra-Thin Polarizer.” Polarizers are an essential component in liquid crystal display and organic EL (electroluminance) display devices. As devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs become thinner, the demand for even thinner and more flexible displays increases. Accordingly, polarizers must also become thinner and more resistant to shrinkage. In response to this demand, Nitto developed an innovative new Ultra-Thin Polarizer. This product will enable further development of even thinner displays, as well as the development of new flexible displays.
Going forward, Nitto intends to continue realizing the slogan, “Innovation for Customers,” and is dedicated to maximizing corporate value.
