In addition, Nitto Denko has established its own proprietary evaluation methods, which are helpful in the development of reliable adhesive tape. A number of these are shown below.
By accurately ascertaining the viscoelasticity of materials that change according to temperature and frequency it is possible to obtain a wide range of information about adhesive tape, such as cold-resistance and heat-resistance, the relative solubility of blended resin and the degree of adhesive cross-linking, all of which is important data used in the development of new products.
Peel Behavior Evaluation
Using a peel behavior observation device, with a microscope we observe the instant when adhesive tape is released from the adherend. By accurately capturing this peel behavior it is possible to clarify the influence of substrate and adhesive properties and structure.
Dicing Property Evaluation
With tapes such as double-coated tapes, precision dicing performance is required to provide customers with product that has been pre-processed to certain specifications. In order to find solutions to defects that occur during cutting, a high-speed camera and zoom lens are combined to observe the high-speed and complicated behavior associated with the cutting resistance that occurs when multi-layer films are cut.
