Message from the President

Nitto Denko Group A "Flexible Technology Company" Always Creating New Value

Since our foundation in 1918, we Nitto Denko Group have always been quick to capture the changes in society, the environment and customers by continually evolving ourselves based on forming and utilizing innumerable combinations of countless core technologies we have in store in the fields of adhesion and coating.

And capitalizing on sheets and films added with a wide spectrum of functions, the Group is pursuing a wide variety of businesses as a "Flexible Technology Company", in 25 countries and areas of the world, in the industries ranging from electronics, automotives, environmental and medical, irrespective of area or business domain.

The world’s values are changing since the onset of the worldwide simultaneous economic slump in the autumn of 2008. Nitto Denko Group is engaged in a thorough-going productivity boost initiative called "Mu Gen Dai" -- which stands for "Eliminating, Reducing and Substituting" in Japanese. While at the same time we have clearly defined the value which we will offer to markets and customers from now on as “Green, Clean and Fine”, whereby those products and businesses are described as follows:

  • "Green" Contributing to the global environment, such as reverse osmosis membranes for seawater desalination;
  • "Clean" Useful for new energy-related activities, such as solar cells and fuel cells; and
  • "Fine" Contributing to life sciences supporting people’s health, such as transdermal drug delivery patches and drug delivery system technologies for delivering drugs directly to the afflicted parts of the body.

Too, in the domain of Tapes which serve as the basis of all kinds of products at Nitto Denko Group, we look forward to pursuing novel and effective combinations of various functionalities in our effort to generate new products and applications, toward further developing our business around the globe.

Nitto Denko Group will pursue further growth as it looks forward to becoming a Centennial Company which is trusted by all stakeholders around us, including our customers, employees and shareholders as well as local communities, while contributing to society at the same time.
